Walking the Yangtze (National Geographic/CICC)

Mandarin Film developed and produced a travel-adventure TV limited-run series and interactive online series following travel adventurer Ash Dykes on his mission to be the first person to walk the entire length of the Yangtze River.

In this incredible series, British adventurer Ash Dykes took us on his most ambitious record- attempt yet: the Yangtze, which is the longest river in Asia at 6,380km long.

Filmed over the course of eighteen months, from the freezing temperatures of the Tibetan plateau to the tropical storms of the populous eastern seaboard, Ash’s survival skills, wildlife encounters and relentless curiosity made this an unforgettable epic adventure and a world record.

Mandarin Film partnered with global distributor Bomanbridge and web and TV partners in China and internationally to produce the TV series that premiered internationally on National Geographic in 2021 and a web series that ran on Chinese platform Douyin.  Walking the Yangtze has since been distributed around the world.
