The series records how Chinese families around the world celebrate the Chinese New Year together. Through the lenses, the show reveals rich traditions and conventions, from the 12th lunar month to Lantern Festival, of different parts of China. Local and international scholars are invited to explain the origin of Lunar New Year. The documentary aims to reveal people’s pursuit of happiness and beautiful life.

Episode 7, entitled ‘Root’, shows how the culture is spreaded to different corners of the world with the migration of Chinese people. Mandarin Film produced the New Zealand section partnered with Director Kyle Murdoch.
